This Pharmacy Technician position supports inpatient pharmacy operations within a 718-bed Level 1 Trauma Center, including a NICU and Children’s Hospital. Technicians in this role are essential members of the healthcare team and directly support safe, timely medication therapy for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Responsibilities include preparing sterile and non-sterile compounded medications using proper aseptic technique, performing accurate dose calculations, and following established safety, regulatory, and hospital standards. Technicians in this role handle a high volume of medications and must be able to understand common medication uses, recognize urgent or STAT medication needs, and prioritize workflow appropriately to support patient care. In addition to compounding, technicians are responsible for delivering medications to Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets throughout inpatient units and assisting with medication distribution activities. The role also involves triaging calls, medication requests, and messages, and working collaboratively with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and respiratory providers to resolve medication-related questions and ensure timely delivery. This position is ideal for a technician who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment, is comfortable adapting to changing priorities, and demonstrates strong critical-thinking skills.
