About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician is an exciting staff-level opportunity at MultiCare, assisting in manipulative and non-discretionary functions of the practice of pharmacy. In this role, you will apply your organizational skills and attention to detail for successful daily work operations. MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hub serving Puyallup and East Pierce County. As the area’s only hospital, it features a Family Birth Center, Level III Trauma and Neonatal ICUs, Level I Trauma Rehabilitation Center, Children’s Therapy Unit and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by the Washington State Department of Health
- If required to drive a MHS vehicle, a driver’s license is required.
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of National Pharmacy Technician Certification Program (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Assist in ordering of supplies from wholesaler and direct accounts, and verifies items received against invoices
- Store items received and assist in maintaining stock levels, to include dating and initialing invoices and/or packing slips upon receipt
- Enter customer’s medication and billing information into computer system
- Answer and screen telephone calls and forwards as needed
- Perform extemporaneous compounding under pharmacist supervision
