About The Position

The Pharmacy Supervisor for the Cancer Center will be responsible for overseeing sterile compounding operations across multiple locations (Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell). This role involves onboarding new pharmacists and technicians, leading a team of approximately ten colleagues, and collaborating closely with Cancer Institute leadership. The supervisor will participate in daily team huddles, support clinical development within the Cancer Institute, and receive mentorship from a supportive Manager and full support from the Cancer Center Leadership Team. A significant aspect of this role includes involvement in workflow designs and the building of new, freestanding Cancer Institutes in Boise and Caldwell. Relocation and a sign-on bonus are available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
  • Must be licensed by the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist.
  • Must be licensed in Oregon within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • PharmD preferred.
  • Pharmacy residency preferred.
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist preferred.
  • Management/supervisory or clinical program coordination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clinically trains new pharmacists.
  • Assists in developing and implementing pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Reviews other disciplines' policies or protocols as needed.
  • Functions as POC for site.
  • Provides staff supervision for 9 current pharmacists with more to be added.
  • Assists in employee evaluations.
  • Facilitates the VOICE system.
  • Facilitates establishment of new drugs on formulary.
  • Reviews existing formulary for possible deletions.
  • Updates physicians and hospital staff on formulary changes.
  • Identifies and provides educational programs necessary to maintain staff competency.
  • Manages pharmaceutical supply situations.
  • Manages product shortages.
  • Coordinates regulatory requirements for clinical activities.
  • Coordinates the department's clinical quality assurance activities and documentation.
  • Acts as an on-call clinical specialist for consultations and staff support.
