About The Position

The primary focus of the Pharmacy Students is to enable safe medication practices by collecting Best Possible Medication Histories (BPMH). They may also support medication distribution, operational tasks, and special projects as opportunities present (and as permitted by workflow priorities). Requirements

  • Enrolment in a University level Pharmacist degree program
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work under pressure
  • Ability to work with computerized electronic health record (Meditech) and proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative, and reliable
  • Regular attendance is a requirement of the position
  • Must be able to perform all necessary bona fide duties for the position, as outlined in the position guide.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Best Possible Medication History (BPMH) on hospital patients in the ER and across various hospital units.
  • Coordinate and communicate with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists in prioritizing which area or patients to interview.
  • Support medication distribution, operational tasks, and special projects as opportunities present (and as permitted by workflow priorities).
