About The Position

Albertsons Companies is seeking a pharmacy student intern to gain pharmacy practice skills in a progressive pharmacy environment focused on patient care and personal customer relationships. Interns have opportunities to focus on patient counseling, customer service, over-the-counter medications, immunizations and vaccinations, medication therapy management (MTM), point-of-care testing, and disease-state management. The intern performs duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor.

Requirements

Be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy.
Hold a valid state intern license if required by the state of employment.
Readily and positively adapt to changes in schedule specifications and work priorities as business and customer needs demand.
Cooperate with others and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Perform all duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor.
Take all steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Offer advice and consultation to customers and health care professionals regarding prescription knowledge, drug therapy, and health-related products and concerns.
Implement company initiatives to increase pharmacy profitability.
Actively participate in clinical services.
