Department: ICE | PTSL IP Clinical Services Jones Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: Clinical Pharmacist Specialists are responsible for providing safe, effective, and prompt medication therapy, supporting both centralized and decentralized medication-use systems. They deliver patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other hospital personnel, focusing on medication therapy management and integrated pharmaceutical care. Their roles involve assessing patient needs, tailoring drug therapy, preventing adverse events, serving as liaisons to other departments, and participating in clinical research and quality initiatives. They also provide education and training for pharmacy students and residents and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy Degree
  • PGY1 residency training, or 3 years of clinical experience in adult emergency medicine.
  • AR licensure or eligible for licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in critical care or emergency medicine.
  • 5-years of experience working as a pharmacist in a level 1 trauma center and a comprehensive stroke center.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees patient care functions, including maintaining accurate records and refining medication therapies to improve treatment results.
  • Handles task prioritization, adjusts to shifts in practice, and addresses day-to-day operational challenges.
  • Adhere to pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Provides training and instruction to staff members and pharmacy learners.
  • Participates in initiatives for process enhancement, policy revisions, or research activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
