About The Position

Provides clinical pharmacy services throughout the hospital. Assists in staffing distribution areas as needed (i.e. central pharmacy). Requirements

  • No experience required
  • Doctorate degree in Pharmacy required upon hire
  • R.Ph. - Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Kentucky required within 90 days of employment in this position
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Works under direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets, and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
  • Completes all residency program requirements and complies with all conditions of the residency program as specified in the residency letter of acceptance.
  • Participates in the assessment, evaluation, implementation, and monitoring of departmental operations, policies, and procedures with department managers.
  • Actively participates in a formal research project including data collection, analysis, presentation, and manuscript preparation.
