Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Resident Yr1 to join the team. This role will be full-time Monday – Friday; Days/evenings rotating shift. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
- Eligible for Licensure in Virginia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association for Critical Care within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Functions effectively as a member of the healthcare team and establishes a collaborative working relationship with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Weighs, measures, and prepares medication products by utilizing the appropriate tools and equipment.
- Interprets medication orders and accurately transcribes to computerized patient medication profiles.
- Accurately compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals including sterile, chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition products.
- Issues controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records as required by law.
- Takes ownership for daily department operations in the absence of a manager/supervisor when needed.
- Displays initiative in preventing, identifying, and resolving Pharmacy related patient care problems.
- Designs, recommends, monitors, and evaluates patient specific therapeutic regimens that incorporate the principles of evidence-based medicine.
