About The Position

The Pharmacy Packaging Clerk is an instrumental role at Propel Syracuse because it ensures that our pharmacy operates efficiently while delivering a high-quality level of care. In the Pharmacy Packaging Clerk role, you will be processing and packaging prescriptions or paperwork with accuracy, attention to detail and efficiency.

Requirements

• Ability to evaluate options and make efficient decisions
• Less than 1 year of packaging experience
• Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records
• Computer skills that include proficiency with multiple programs and use of the internet and email

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing and packaging prescriptions or paperwork with accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency
• Prioritize or multitask to complete the processing for time-sensitive medications
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Performs duties of the Material Handler as required
• Pack 800 - 1000 prescriptions in an 8 hour shift (after 1 month in role and training completed)
• Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations; ensure that the pharmacy meets or exceeds accreditation standards; and implement “best practices” in all pharmacy activities
• Participate in the pharmacy’s performance improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Adherence to the assigned work schedule
• Other duties as assigned
