About The Position

The Pharmacy Operations Manager assists the Director with management, planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities in the department according to hospital policies and standards. The Pharmacy Operations Manager shall also assist in managing the pharmacy when the Pharmacy Director is unavailable. The Pharmacy Operations Manager demonstrates competency and performs consistently under non-routine conditions and complex situations. Coaches others on performance and suggests ideas for development. Uses knowledge to challenge current assumptions/practices. Significantly improves specific processes; recommends and facilitates initiatives to improve stakeholder value. Drives key business improvements and results. Participates as a subject matter expert. Interprets physician prescriptions and medication orders and performs related clinical tasks. Acts as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff, and ancillary department personnel. Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing related duties.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Current and active pharmacist license in good standing in the State of Florida.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience, with retail pharmacy experience required.
  • Immunization certification and authority to administer vaccines in accordance with Florida law.
  • Strong knowledge of retail pharmacy operations, prescription processing, insurance billing, medication safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management systems, dispensing software, and electronic prescribing platforms.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment within a medical center setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous Pharmacy Manager Experience Preferred
