About The Position

Coordinates the training and daily activities for central pharmacy operations and pharmacy technician activities. Coordinates with fellow pharmacy management on optimal pharmacy workflow and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in Hospital Pharmacy required.
• Wisconsin pharmacy technician license is required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential required.
• Strong knowledge of drug names, dosage, strengths, formulations and directions for use.
• Strong computer-related skills, including Microsoft Office suite and electronic health record.
• Analytical skills necessary to evaluate problems, arrange appropriate service or develop plans and procedures to achieve resolution, ensure completion, and evaluate effectiveness of the problem resolution.
• Independent judgment necessary to work in accordance with departmental practices and general directives received from the Director.
• Demonstrates effective and efficient organization and time management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities, including but not limited to positively influencing pharmacy staff and working with a variety of diverse people including nurses, management/leadership, and other hospital personnel.
• Ability to think conceptually and translate broad organizational issues to the daily operational level.
• Excellent communication skills which frequently involve collaborating with management/leadership and other hospital personnel.

Nice To Haves

• Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the daily activities for pharmacy operations of pharmacy technicians on all shifts.
• Coordinates pharmacy technician training in collaboration with the Pharmacy Sterile Products team.
• Coordinates Pharmacy Department services, regulatory compliance, quality and performance improvement activities.
• Evaluates work performance of pharmacy technicians.
