About The Position

This is an opportunity to lead a new pharmacy location in Longleaf-New Port Richey as part of a growing outpatient clinical network. The Pharmacist in Charge will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and regulatory compliance of this location, working alongside on-site providers and clinical staff in a structured, patient-centered environment. This role offers meaningful site-level ownership, a stable weekday schedule, and a collaborative team culture. Anticipated opening mid-August 2026. The role offers a Monday through Friday schedule with no weekend coverage (TBD 8a-5p), predictable daily workflow in an organized outpatient practice setting, a patient-focused environment built around accuracy and care, not volume pressure, close collaboration with on-site providers and clinical staff, and the opportunity to help open and establish a new pharmacy location from day one.

Requirements

  • BS Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution
  • Active and unrestricted Florida Pharmacist License
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to patient safety
  • Must not be excluded from participation in federal healthcare programs

Nice To Haves

  • Retail pharmacy or outpatient management background
  • 3 or more years of pharmacy management experience
  • 340B program familiarity
  • Prior experience opening or launching a new pharmacy location
  • Rx30 pharmacy software experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Pharmacist in Charge with full on-site operational and regulatory accountability for the Wesley Chapel location
  • Maintain daily pharmacy operations with a focus on dispensing accuracy, patient safety, and workflow consistency
  • Verify physician orders, ensure appropriate medication dispensing, and identify therapeutic incompatibilities
  • Counsel patients on appropriate medication use and serve as a knowledgeable resource for providers and clinical staff
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws and Florida Board of Pharmacy requirements
  • Maintain compliance with all Joint Commission accreditation standards and elements of performance
  • Ensure adherence to 340B program requirements applicable to this location
  • Maintain controlled substance records and ensure DEA compliance at all times
  • Manage inventory including ordering, expiration monitoring, and removal of unusable or outdated medications
  • Support staff training and ensure consistent adherence to established workflow standards and procedures
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to safety and efficiency at the site level
  • Maintain infection control protocols and pharmacy safety standards
