About The Position

The Centers is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to coordinate drug distribution and other pharmacy activities. This role is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient pharmacy operations, establishing and enforcing pharmacy policies, and providing clinical drug information to patients and the healthcare team. The Pharmacy Manager will also accept legal responsibility as the pharmacist in charge.

Requirements

  • Licensed, Registered Pharmacist in the state of Ohio (RPh or PharmD).
  • Vaccination certified and able to provide vaccines and other approved injectable medications.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary team settings.
  • Knowledge of current pharmacy laws and best practices.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the population served.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily workflow and medication dispensing.
  • Provide patient services.
  • Review and interpret physicians’ orders for appropriateness, potential interactions, incompatibilities, or toxic compounds.
  • Ensure drugs are appropriately labeled, stored, and utilized according to physicians’ instructions.
  • Dispense prescriptions to outpatients in accordance with The Centers’ policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all state and federal pharmacy laws, controlled substance regulations, and proper record-keeping.
  • Counsel patients about their medications, advise on drug interactions, and collaborate with providers.
  • Maintain an accurate up-to-date patient profile.
  • Supervise adherence packing of drugs and control procedures.
  • Provide drug information to nursing, physicians, and other healthcare practitioners.
  • Participate in in-service education programs.
  • Participate in the development of policy, procedure, and workflow to ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.
  • Lead, train, evaluate, and schedule technicians and support staff.
  • Manage ordering, storage, and security of medications, including controlled substances.
  • Conduct inventories and cycle counts.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the profession through organization memberships, meetings, lectures, seminars, and reading journals.
  • Comply with National Standards of Continuing Education.
  • Assure the quality of professional services is maintained.
  • Manage acquisition and administration of vaccines.
  • Help pilot new programs, providing feedback and planning rollout and execution.
  • Collect and document relevant pharmacy data for evaluation and modification of pharmacy practices.
  • Communicate pharmacy data with the VP of Pharmacy Services.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
