About The Position

The Pharmacy Manager oversees all aspects of pharmacy operations at Central Florida Health Care, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), with a primary focus on the 340B Drug Pricing Program. This role ensures compliance, operational efficiency, and the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to underserved populations. Reporting to the Chief of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Manager supervises pharmacy staff, collaborates with site providers to improve patient outcomes, and partners with site leadership to implement policies and maintain high standards of patient safety and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • Active Pharmacist License in good standing with the state Board of Pharmacy and valid BLS certification.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Teams) and pharmacy management software, technology, and equipment.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Commitment to compliance, ethical standards, and serving underserved populations.

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
  • Comprehensive understanding of pharmacy laws and regulations, particularly those relevant to FQHCs.
  • Familiarity with the 340B Drug Pricing Program and experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Current immunization certification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily pharmacy operations, including interpreting prescription orders, packaging, labeling, dispensing, administering, and distributing medications and devices.
  • Oversee inventory management, procurement, and medication distribution in alignment with 340B program requirements to ensure cost savings for eligible patients.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including DEA regulations and FQHC-specific requirements, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor pharmacy technicians and pharmacists; manage workflow, schedules, and performance in line with company policy.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers on medication therapy management (MTM), chart review, prescription clarification, and other clinical services.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and cost-effective alternatives, ensuring access to affordable medications through 340B program utilization.
  • Conduct or participate in audits, monitor and report medication errors and adverse drug reactions, and lead quality improvement initiatives.
  • Review pharmacy sales, inventory, and expense data to manage financial performance, optimize stock levels, and oversee loss prevention activities.
  • Partner with the Chief of Pharmacy on strategic planning, expanding pharmacy services, and engaging in community outreach.
  • Uphold pharmacy hours at assigned site, remain on-call during lunch unless a second pharmacist is on duty, and volunteer a minimum of two Saturday shifts annually.
