About The Position

As a full time, exempt Optum/CPS Pharmacy Manager, Specialty Services at Cadillac Hospital (part of the Munson Medical Center Health System) you will oversee the operations of the chronic disease outpatient pharmacy. Duties include: planing, organizing, setting controls, and supervising activities in the Pharmacy according to policies, standards of practice of the profession, and State and Federal laws. You will also recommend innovations in the practice and function of the specialty pharmacy to administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs. The Foster Family Community Health Center, formerly called the Munson Community Health Center, is the front door to services provided at Munson Medical Center and elsewhere in the Munson Healthcare system. People from around northern Michigan use Foster Family Community Health Center for pre-operative testing, pain management, rehabilitation therapies, urgent care, sleep disorders, and many other diagnostic services. The Specialty Pharmacy will utilize PioneerRx or a similar program. The Pharmacy hours will be Monday-Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Requirements

  • B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Michigan Pharmacist licensure active and in good standing
  • 3+ years of experience in a retail and/or specialty pharmacy
  • Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
  • Demonstrated good communications skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in a pharmacy supervisory position in a hospital, specialty or retail setting
  • Experience with Chronic disease

Responsibilities

  • Direct specialty pharmacy operations, ensuring timely access to complex and high-cost therapies
  • Lead and develop specialty pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, liaisons, and support teams—may lead a team of up to 5-10 Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
  • Oversee payer access, prior authorization, and reimbursement workflows, optimizing time-to-therapy
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation, REMS, and regulatory requirements, including documentation and audits
  • Monitor clinical, financial, and operational performance metrics, driving quality and outcomes improvement
  • Collaborate with providers, manufacturers, and health system partners to support therapy access and care coordination
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives, supporting program growth, patient access, and sustainability
