Pharmacy Management Consulting Manager
About The Position
As a Pharmacy Management Consulting Manager, you will lead initiatives that blend managed care pharmacy strategy with pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy transformation for provider and payer clients, improving drug spend, medication management, and pharmacy program performance. We collaborate with healthcare executives, leaders, and boards to help organizations innovate, transform, and enhance their operational effectiveness. Our work spans across strategy, operations, clinical optimization, regulatory compliance, and technological advancement. Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of consulting/advisory experience with healthcare provider and/or payer clients
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managed care pharmacy, PBM operations, or pharmacy benefit/cost management
- Bachelor's Degree required
Nice To Haves
- Active Pharmacist license (PharmD or RPh)
- Experience in the design, financing, and management of large group pharmacy benefit programs gained in a consulting, brokerage, PBM, or carrier environment, including pharmacy pricing, underwriting, or valuation work.
- Experience with PBM and pharmacy management procurement, formulary strategy, rebate contracting, specialty pharmacy management, and drug cost/trend monitoring
- Experience with utilization management strategies (prior authorization, step therapy), formulary development and management, and cost-containment programs for health plans, PBMs, or employer groups
- Strong analytical skills linking pharmacy levers to clinical and financial outcomes
Responsibilities
- Identify and address pharmacy cost and drug trend drivers across medical and pharmacy benefits
- Lead managed care pharmacy initiatives including formulary strategy, utilization management, and PBM performance
- Partner with clinical and operations leaders on pharmacy operations transformation and clinical pharmacy program design
