Summary The Pharmacy L&D Specialist I will have strong pharmacy background, and a desire to teach and develop employees. A partner for the entire organization, the focus will be on operational training within our Pharmacy and Specialty Operations, and on overall employee development in multiple areas. The Pharmacy L&D Specialist I will be accountable for working with the team for onboarding and overseeing skill enhancement programs, developing and delivering successful training programs and courses both onsite and virtually. The position will also assist with regular Pharmacy operations as needed to supplement the workforce.

Requirements

  • Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician, in both Front End and Back End duties
  • Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Administrative skills to track program milestones and record keeping
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to comprehend technical content, communicate well with subject matter experts and translate technical content to non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support training program needs; role will require onsite presence as needed for orientation and employee development, and to assist Pharmacy with regular operations as needed.
  • Highly proficient in time management, organization, planning and prioritization.
  • Possess initiative and self-motivation to work with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to manage changing tasks/projects simultaneously; meet deadlines and adapt to a fast paced, changing business environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and interaction skills
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to manage a classroom setting and provide feedback to leadership and individuals
  • Punctuality required for all meetings and scheduled events

  • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment including operation of standard computer and phone equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership, training, or lead position a plus
  • Experience in facilitating a virtual classroom using remote meeting software, such as Microsoft Teams, is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate learning via onsite classroom and OJT instruction; incorporate a variety of presentation methods and applications to accommodate adult learning styles. Learning topics will include department specific training (Front End Pharmacy Technicians and Back End Pharmacy Technicians, Material Handlers and Shipping Clerks), systems training, and customer service training, among others.
  • Coordinate department training scheduling and other administrative duties such as class attendance, managing 30/60/90 day onboarding plans, apprenticeship program, sending follow-up emails, reporting and monitoring development plans and post-training surveys.
  • Utilize Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams to assist with classroom monitoring, question responses, scheduling, and communicating with outside departments.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other colleagues to assist with creating training materials, such as job aids, workbooks, and handbooks, as well as e-Learning tools like Articulate 360 for computer-based training courses.
  • Assist the Organizational Learning and Development department with creating and updating coursework with evaluation strategies such as practice exercises and knowledge checks designed to drive learning retention.
  • When not performing L&D requirements, will be available to assist with Pharmacy operations as needed in a Pharm Tech capacity.
