About The Position

SeaWorld is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and hard-working part-time Pharmacy Inventory Assistant to join their incredible Veterinary Services Team. This role involves managing medication inventory, dispensing medications, procurement and receiving of supplies, record keeping, reporting, and collaboration with veterinarians and the veterinary services laboratory team. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, proficiency with computers and inventory management software, and strong communication skills. Previous experience in inventory, pharmacy, or veterinary assistance is highly desired, as is knowledge of pharmaceutical products and regulations. Flexibility in schedule, including occasional overtime, is essential.

Responsibilities

Managing medication inventory, including maintaining appropriate levels, preventing shortages or overstocking, and ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications (including temperature-sensitive or controlled substances, vitamin supplements, and consumable medical supplies).
Monitoring and removing expired drugs and overseeing their disposal.
Dispensing daily medications and updating the medical record system (Tracks®).
Coordinating with pharmacy leadership to order medications and supplies.
Receiving shipments, verifying accuracy and quality of received goods, and entering them into the inventory system.
Researching price comparisons and negotiating medication and supply costs.
Maintaining vendor packets and documentation, and updating documents necessary to maintain these relationships.
Maintaining and updating Purchase Orders (POs) for vendors.
Maintaining accurate and detailed records of inventory levels using computerized inventory management software (Tracks®).
Preparing reports on drug usage, cost analysis, and inventory levels to assist with cost control and informed decision-making.
Working closely with SeaWorld Orlando Veterinarians and the Veterinary Services Laboratory team to manage the health of resident animal and rescue populations.
