About The Position

Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal and company policy. Interact with all levels of medical staff to discuss relevant patient information as warranted. Participates in the process of dispensing medications to patients. Reinforce patient self-management of medications through provision of education on proper medication administration, medication adherence, storage, and drug disposal. Report issues and concerns to manager in a timely manner. Maintain confidentiality of patient and company information. Respond to drug information requests. Maintains logs, records, and other required files and documentation; answers the phone and handles cash transactions. Ability to efficiently work at all pharmacy workstations including order entry, filling station, phones, pick-up, and consultation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited school/college of Pharmacy with a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED/Equivalent Credentials/Licensure
  • Licensed as a Pharmacy Intern by the Michigan Board of Pharmacy
  • Ability to communicate in English (verbal and written)

Nice To Haves

  • Must have completed at least 2 years of pharmacy school (i.e. be a P3 or P4 level Pharmacy student)
  • Have previous pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern experience
