About The Position

Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG) is seeking a pharmacy student for its 2027 Summer Internship on the VMC Pharmacy team. The intern will gain direct experience across pharmacy operations, including compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations, financial components of profit and loss statements, pharmacy industry topics such as DIR fees and PBM networks, competition, and marketing and social media for the VMC Pharmacy Program and Buying Group.

The internship is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, 10-week program, with overtime possible as needed and regular, reliable attendance expected. The work environment is business casual. Interns will receive hands-on experience in a corporate environment, connect with other interns and AWG professionals, and present their findings to the Executive Leadership Team at the end of the program. The internship runs from May 25, 2027, through July 30, 2027, and pays $21 per hour.

Requirements

• Be a pharmacy major; junior- or senior-level students are preferred.
• Have solid communication skills.
• Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Be willing to ask questions and follow up.
• Show initiative and enthusiasm for learning, and be able to follow direction.
• Have an interest in pharmacy, pharmacy operations, and pharmacy law.
• Commit to a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, 10-week internship; overtime may be needed.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance throughout the program.

Nice To Haves

• Junior or senior level pharmacy students are preferred.

Responsibilities
