About The Position

Vibra Healthcare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Intern to join their team at Vibra Hospital of Fargo. This is a part-time position, with shifts on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Vibra Hospital of Fargo is a 31-bed Critical Care Hospital providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. The hospital offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly environment where staff can get to know patients and their families.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy Student meeting the Board of Pharmacy requirements to function as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment required.
• Valid driver’s license necessary in states with multiple facilities requiring delivering to sites.
• Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) months experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties related to the hospital drug distribution system.
• Filling physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, including intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations.
• Maintaining the drug inventory.
• Maintaining confidential patient records.
• May participate in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health.
