The Pharmacist Intern at Fuze Health supports the Pharmacy Operations team by assisting in daily pharmacy activities and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality standards. Reporting to the Pharmacy Operations Leader, this individual contributor works cross-functionally with internal teams and operates under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge and/or a licensed pharmacist. This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational efficiency, medication safety, and regulatory compliance while developing professional pharmacy practice skills within the respective FuzeRx location.

Requirements

  • Registered Pharmacist Intern with a current, valid, and unrestricted intern license in the state of practice.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with pharmacists, staff, and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods, move frequently around the pharmacy, stoop, bend, reach for equipment and supplies, make frequent repetitive motions to operate a computer and other pharmacy equipment, and lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to effectively communicate through verbal interactions, discern auditory information, and visually perceive details to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in daily operations, including preparing medications for pharmacist verification and utilizing pharmacy automation tools to support workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation for services rendered, ensuring proper recordkeeping and audit readiness.
  • Ensure patient medication profiles are accurately maintained and updated in accordance with pharmacy policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Safeguard legend drugs and assist in maintaining proper storage, handling, and security procedures.
  • Actively participate in the pharmacy’s quality assurance program, including attending continuous quality improvement meetings and supporting process enhancements.
  • Aid the Pharmacist in Charge in providing education and training to pharmacy staff as needed.
  • Perform all duties permitted under intern licensure while practicing the art of pharmacy to the highest professional standards under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacy operations and other internal teams to support organizational goals and ensure seamless service delivery.
