About The Position

This role is for an Inpatient Pharmacy Intern at Vanderbilt University Hospital. The intern will perform tasks in direct support of the pharmacist's duties, contributing to the preparation and dispensing of medications under direct supervision. Responsibilities include answering phone requests, triaging calls, and applying departmental inventory control processes. The position requires active enrollment in a school of pharmacy and is open to P1, P2, and P3 students. The role involves working every third weekend, with specific hours for medication history shifts and summer/winter breaks. The intern will also be assigned holidays.

Requirements

Must be actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy.
P1, P2, and P3 students will be considered.
High School Diploma or GED.
Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.

Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
Operates computer systems and utilizes technology.
