Requirements

• High School Diploma and actively enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy
• Must be currently enrolled in an Accredited Pharmacy School.
• Registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern
• Up to 1 year of experience in a related field

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, supervisor, or director of pharmacy services, the Pharmacy Intern performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program.
• Maintaining confidential reports.
• Entering and retrieving data using the computer system.
• Preparing intravenous medications (including chemotherapeutic preparations, hyperalimentations, and antibiotics).
• Pre-filling patient cassette drawers with a 24-hour supply of unit dose medications.
• Procuring and filling requests for pharmaceutical supplies.
• Delivering supplies to nursing units.
