This part-time position will conduct patient medication history interviews from 4pm-9pm. Work requirements include: one weekday evening per week, one weekend (both Saturday/Sunday evenings) per month, and two holidays per year. These are allotted on a rotating basis with other zero hour pharmacy interns. Under general supervision of a pharmacist, performs duties of a pharmacy technician such as: filling medication orders, delivering medications, compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations, interviewing patients to obtain medication histories, etc. Provides pharmacy services to the patient care areas and customers by performing clerical duties in the pharmacy to ensure efficient operations and performs duties related to medication ordering, receipt, stocking, and inventory control. Receives and interprets prescriptions for outpatients and enters them into the pharmacy computer system. Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building.
