About The Position

We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Informatics Manager to join our Pharmacy Services team. This role is ideal for a clinical pharmacist with a passion for technology, data-driven decision-making, and improving medication safety across systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Access and Excel
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
  • 10 years as a hospital pharmacist with 3-5 years in pharmacy information systems management
  • OR 5 years as a hospital pharmacist plus PGY-2 residency in pharmacy clinical informatics
  • Registered pharmacist in the District of Columbia or eligible via reciprocity
  • Adhere to the Health Sciences Compliance Program and HIPAA Privacy Policies
  • Maintain confidentiality of patients, families, and staff
  • Participate in compliance training and activities
  • Promote ethical conduct and regulatory adherence

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of supervisory/managerial experience (Preferred)
  • Clinical/informatics certification (Preferred)
  • Prior multi-site or system experience (Preferred)
  • Experience with Cerner, Pyxis, MacroHelix, Pharmogistics, or similar inventory management software

Responsibilities

  • Lead workflow analysis and continuous quality improvement initiatives related to pharmacy/medication-use information systems.
  • Supervise the build, implementation, and maintenance of pharmacy automation and technology systems.
  • Evaluate new technologies to enhance workflow efficiency and medication safety.
  • Analyze and promote the use of data to support informed decision-making.
  • Facilitate change management processes for system-level standardization.
  • Collaborate with the medication safety officer to identify process improvements and educational needs.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive delivery of pharmacy software across the system.
  • Partner with ITS and IT teams to optimize hardware, software applications, and interfaces.
  • Develop and deliver education and communication materials related to EHR, pharmacy workflows, and policy changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
