About The Position

The Pharmacy Health System Director is responsible for overseeing pharmacy operations of all Great Falls Clinic (GFC) entities, Great Falls Clinic Hospital (GFCH) acute care pharmacy and the GFCH Infusion Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Health System Director will also ensure patients pharmaceutical needs are effectively met by establishing staffing mix, policies, procedures, standards and objectives for the provision of services, oversee the integration of pharmacy practice within the hospital system by coordinating resources to provide maximum level of services to patients and the customer, actively participates in building relationship with the providers, staff and patients by acting as a key customer contact, plan organize, and direct pharmacy department efforts to monitor the quality of staff performance and the effectiveness of pharmacy programs, manage sites finances and participate in departmental budget preparation. Responsible for expense and revenue performance of pharmacies and medication management in the GFC/GFCH Market. Ensure patient safety by managing medication use processes including prescribing, dispensing, administering, and monitoring patient outcomes. Supervise, educate, and evaluate staff members. Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies. Prepare and submit productivity reports.

Requirements

  • BS or PharmD from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy
  • 3-5 years of Pharmacy Director experience in a complex health care system.
  • Experience using computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and pharmacy information systems, required.
  • Current Pharmacist License in good standing with Montana State Board of Pharmacy
  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws governing pharmacy services.
  • Proficient in the use and application of new medications and technology.
  • Leadership, administrative, human resources, and managerial skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively participate on interdisciplinary teams and committees.
  • Business acumen including profit loss understanding, contract negotiations and GPO function required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge of pathophysiology, interpretation of diagnostic criteria, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics.
  • Problem solving ability and analytical thinking, required.
