This position is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care to customers by processing and accurately dispensing prescription orders under the direction of a Pharmacist. The intern will counsel customers regarding health care and prescription medication needs, maintain confidential information, and adhere to controlled medication procedures as permitted by local, state, and federal laws. The role also involves ensuring the accuracy of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances, and evaluating potential chemical interactions and side effects. Additionally, the intern will ensure accurate communication of written prescriptions to and from physicians, maintain confidentiality of documentation and records, and provide excellent customer service by assisting with purchasing decisions, resolving issues, and promoting products and services. Operational duties include operating equipment like cash registers, receiving and stocking merchandise, maintaining the pharmacy area according to company procedures, managing claims and returns, identifying shrink and damages, and ensuring a safe work environment. Merchandise presentation is also key, involving stocking, rotating, removing damaged goods, setting up displays, and signing/pricing merchandise appropriately.
