Pharmacy Fulfillment Certified Pharmacy Technician - Full Time
About The Position
Works in a fast-paced production environment known as an automated Central Fill Pharmacy. Assist pharmacists in the accurate preparation and distribution of prescription medications. This role involves working with co-workers as a team to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and facility policies. The technician will handle inquiries that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise and judgment, and assist in developing standard operating procedures. They will prepare and affix labels to prescription containers, assist in training employees, and ensure adherence to quality assurance standards. A key aspect of the role is gaining a complete understanding of Hy-Vee’s retail pharmacy operations to offer avenues to better serve them. The technician will also report any medication errors to appropriate personnel, order, check-in, and stock pharmacy supplies, and maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area. Strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress is required, as is adherence to all statutes and regulations pertaining to a pharmacy technician. The role also includes performing mail order call center duties, including data entry to prepare prescription orders, manually counting medication quantities, replenishing medication cells, and replacing empty medication cells with full ones for the robots.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified as a licensed technician through a certified national program and maintains continuing education requirements to keep license active.
- Must be 18+

- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk is preferred.
