Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Current Pharmacist license in the State of New Jersey
  • Three (3) or more years of hospital pharmacy experience
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care

Nice To Haves

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Five (5) or more years of hospital pharmacy experience
  • ALS/ACLS certification (required if participating in Code Blue response)

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily hospital pharmacy operations and provide oversight, coaching, and development for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, Board of Pharmacy requirements, DEA regulations, Joint Commission standards, and USP 795, 797, and 800 requirements.
  • Develop and execute pharmacy goals related to medication safety, clinical quality, operational efficiency, productivity, financial performance, and patient satisfaction.
  • Oversee medication-use processes, formulary management, drug utilization, clinical pharmacy services, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and retain pharmacy team members while promoting accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Partner with physicians, nursing, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to improve medication management and patient outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, programs, and regulatory readiness initiatives.
  • Participate in hospital committees and lead pharmacy-related projects, new programs, and corporate initiatives.
