About The Position

The Pharmacy Delivery Clerk is responsible for the prompt, safe, and secure transportation of prescription medications and pharmacy-related items to patients and facilities.

Requirements

Must have acceptable training as determined by the Pharmacy Manager and/or the Pharmacy District Director.
Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license and provide proof of auto insurance.
Must meet the qualifications of the Brookshire Brothers Driver Policy.

Responsibilities

Display outstanding customer service skills by greeting customers, and providing friendly, courteous service at all times. Display this same courtesy to co-workers as well.
Safely and efficiently deliver prescriptions and pharmacy supplies to homes, assisted living communities, long-term care facilities, inpatient care settings, and medical offices.
Verify patient or facility information prior to each delivery to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Maintain delivery records and obtain required signatures, ensuring full documentation and chain of custody.
Follow HIPAA, DEA, state pharmacy board, and company regulations for transporting pharmaceuticals, including controlled substances and temperature-sensitive medications.
Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, and facility staff regarding delivery status, issues, or questions.
Complete pre- and post-route vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns.
Assist pharmacy staff in organizing, staging, and loading delivery items for transport.
Represent the pharmacy in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
Adhere to company dress code and safety procedures.
When not making deliveries, act as a pharmacy clerk, assisting customers with the purchase of prescriptions and other items, answering the telephone, taking prescriptions from customers, etc.
Be willing and able to perform other duties as assigned and directed by management.
