About The Position

The Pharmacy Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and confidential delivery of prescription medications and pharmacy supplies to patients and our surrounding clinic locations. This role supports pharmacy operations and access to care by ensuring patients—particularly those who are elderly, homebound, or underserved—receive their medications reliably while maintaining strict compliance with privacy, safety, and regulatory standards while representing Advance Community Health in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • No medication related background issues

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using GPS systems, smartphones, tablets, and computers
  • Familiarity with PioneerRX pharmacy software
  • Basic understanding of refrigerated and temperature sensitive medications
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently
  • Ability to lift and carry packages up to 30–40 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Deliver prescription medications and pharmacy supplies to patients’ homes, clinics, and designated delivery locations
  • Verify delivery information, obtain required signatures, and ensure proper chain-of-custody documentation
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and pharmacy privacy standards
  • Transport medications in accordance with storage, temperature, and safety requirements
  • Follow established delivery routes and schedules while adapting to traffic, weather, and patient needs.
  • Communicate effectively delivery status, issues or delays promptly to pharmacy staff
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and records using required systems and tools
  • Perform basic vehicle inspections and ensure assigned vehicle is clean, safe, and properly maintained. Report any and all maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Adhere to all controlled substance handling and transport protocols.
  • Provide courteous, respectful, and culturally sensitive interactions with patients and staff
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and organizational policies
  • Operate vehicles safely in all weather conditions.
  • Drive up to 4 to 5 hours at a time as needed.
