About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacy Delivery Driver will transport medication to patients in an accurate, safe and secure manner while protecting patient confidentiality and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • High SchoolDiploma orEquivalent isrequired.
  • Registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy isrequiredwithin the first six months of employment (OHI willassist).
  • Mustpossessa current and validNew Jerseydriver'slicenseand beeligibleforcoverage under the company’s insurance and bonding policies.
  • Ability to interact courteously and communicate effectively
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and organize time well.
  • Ability to work occasionally in confined,noisyor dusty environments.
  • Abilityto understand,retainand carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed instructions, delivery documentation, and specifications.
  • Sufficient visual and auditory acuity to safelyoperatea motor vehicle and perform job duties.
  • Frequent, repetitive use of both hands for grasping andhandling.

Responsibilities

  • Transportshome delivery prescriptions for patientsofOcean Health Initiatives.
  • Deliver vaccines, medications, or other items as needed including inter-office mail, medicalsuppliesand equipment.
  • Properlyidentifypatientwhen delivering medications with absolute accuracy following patient identification policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper communication in case of unsuccessful delivery attempts by using a company-assigned phone or tablet to contact the patient, confirm their location, and follow established protocols before leaving the delivery site.
  • Maintain delivery log of activities per policy and procedure, which may include checking and/orloggingrecipient identification.
  • Completes related paperwork required by OHI to document and justify miles driven
  • Ensures that the pharmacy delivery vehicle ismaintainedincluding but not limited to fueling, cleaning, and scheduled maintenance. Report all related repair needs to the VP of Facility Operations as soon as possible
  • Comply withall regulations related to confidentiality of patient information
  • Ensuretimelydelivery of medications by preparing routes using proper navigation programs.
  • Notify customers if deliveries will be materially late from established time schedules.
  • Operate a motor vehicle for multiple hours per day, making multiple delivery stops whilemaintainingfocus, accuracy, and adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Safely navigate traffic, adverse weather conditions, and time-sensitive delivery deadlines.
  • Conduct electronic payments and transactions for patients as needed.
  • Ensureappropriate temperaturecontrol and secure transportation of pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensurescompliance with Ocean Health Initiatives employee handbook.
  • Completes all mandatory in-services ina timelyfashion.
  • Adheres to Corporate Compliance policies.
  • Maintains monthly scorecard metric threshold at 80%.
  • Is highly accountable for one's ownproductivity.In order tomaintaintransparency, all projects must be represented clearly on a project boardinMonday.com.Responsible for ensuring the board is always updated andaccurateand that information is accessible to those that need it.
