About The Position

Under the direction of the Department Leadership, provides clinical pharmaceutical care to patients and serves as expert, professional resource to service areas and the Department of Pharmacy Services. Serves as the Pharmacist in Charge and provides direct supervision and oversight of inventory and purchasing. Incumbent pharmacist-in-charge shall be responsible for a pharmacy's compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy. Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act. (Gov’t. Code §§ 3100, 3102) Your position has been defined as exempt (Exempt employees are paid on a salary basis as their duties may include more complex tasks that require them to work inconsistent or longer hours on a weekly basis. Exempt salaried employees also may be obligated to work as many hours as required to fulfill their responsibilities.) therefore you may have the ability to work remote as long as your VP has given prior approval. In the event remote work is required 100% of the time or for a defined period of time for a medical accommodation, a full telework agreement must be completed and approved by both your VP and the President/CEO before remote work begins. Requirements

Must have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of California.
Must have and maintain current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to assignment.
Advanced clinical skills, successful interpersonal relations, and increased responsibility.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if required.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages if required.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge of basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year of experience with information technology related to medication management safety is strongly preferred.
Doctorate preferred.
Residency preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists the department in the creation and maintenance of clinical programs and services.
Participates in all committee functions that are pertinent to patient care and medication issues.
Serves to guide the creation and maintenance of pharmacy-related content within the electronic health record to include order set creation and maintenance.
Serves as a subject matter expert for the ACS department in IT Pharmacy applications and projects.
Develops and/or facilitates the development of action plans related to Clinical Pharmacy activities and IT Pharmacy projects.
Demonstrates ability to foster good relations with the Interdisciplinary Team while still performing necessary duties as a Registered Pharmacist.
Manages IT Pharmacy oriented applications such as the Carefusion Knowledge Portal, Alaris CQI, Alaris Drug Library and Sentry 340B Software.
Assists the department in the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures that affect Pharmacy operations and patient care.
Models appropriate communication and assists other staff in the identification of appropriate communication channels and methods.
Equips the department of pharmacy with reporting and data collection tools within the Meditech environment.
Responsible for a pharmacy's compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy.
