About The Position

Greets and registers customers courteously and promptly. Collects needed personal and financial information and accurately enters information in computer. Answers telephone promptly and courteously and routes calls to the appropriate person, and any other duties as may be required or assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Typing speed of 45 wpm.
  • Familiar with operating computer and the ability to utilize company computer system.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with the general public.
  • Working knowledge and competent capabilities in computer technology.
  • Clear and understandable speech and the ability to hear.
  • Intermittent walking, sitting, standing.
  • Some bending, stooping, and reaching required, with a lift limit of 40 pounds.
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructions or directions.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in the health care field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Muenster Hospital District.
  • Maintains HIPAA required and all other confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
  • Follows safety guidelines and all policies and procedures of MHD.
  • Greets all patients and other customers professionally and courteously as soon as possible.
  • Inquires about the nature of the visit and helps to locate merchandise.
  • Collects correct personal and financial information from patients and accurately enters data into the computer.
  • Completes all required forms for financial and medical records and obtains current signatures as needed.
  • Assembles records or files as needed.
  • Verifies insurance coverage or method of payment.
  • Answers each call promptly and courteously.
  • Routes all incoming calls to the requested party.
  • Determines the nature of calls and properly transfers them to the appropriate person.
  • Provides clearly written messages to all specified employees when a call cannot be completed.
  • Provides information to callers as provided by policy.
  • Requests and accepts payments from patients and other customers.
  • Operates cash register to process cash, checks, credit card, and charge account sales.
  • Provides service direct to patients and customers while maintaining a positive relations atmosphere.
  • Keeps current on changes occurring in Medicare, Medicaid, Worker’s Compensation, and other insurance carrier rules and regulations.
  • Maintains a positive employee relations atmosphere.
  • Performs duties as directed in support of department functions.
  • Enter and maintain personal time in time clock system.
  • Assist with annual inventory.
