About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Inventory / Pharmacy Clerk to support pharmacy and warehouse inventory operations at an OptumRx facility in Charlotte, NC. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining accurate medication and supply inventory, supporting inventory audits, ensuring proper storage and handling of products, and maintaining compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines. The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse, logistics, inventory, or supply chain experience and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Inventory and Supply Chain team consists of six team members who work collaboratively to support medication inventory management, distribution, compliance, and operational continuity.

Requirements

  • Previous warehouse, logistics, inventory, or production experience preferred
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to approximately 8 hours per shift with intermittent breaks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and various measurements
  • Intermediate proficiency with Windows-based computer applications and the ability to learn new systems and software
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled hours
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends as required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a mail-order pharmacy or mail-order fulfillment environment
  • Experience with inventory management or supply chain operations
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance production and quality objectives in a high-volume environment
  • Basic healthcare or pharmacy knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate drug inventory and dispensing supplies at pharmacy workstations and overstock locations
  • Perform inventory management and putaway activities in accordance with established procedures
  • Assist with physical inventory audits and cycle-counting activities
  • Inspect inventory for damage, expiration, or other discrepancies
  • Remove expired or damaged products according to established procedures
  • Investigate and assist with resolving inventory discrepancies
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Mark, label, organize, and properly store inventory and supplies
  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Support pharmacy and warehouse operations as needed and assigned by pharmacy leadership
  • Maintain productivity, accuracy, and quality standards while managing daily workload
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
