About The Position

WEIS is looking for a Pharmacy Cashier who is passionate about teamwork and the growth of its associates and communities. This role is responsible for delivering superior customer service, assisting customers at the register, and supporting the pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will be courteous, efficient, and committed to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Valid driver's license for business travel purposes.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to operate and maintain a working knowledge of equipment including the register, phones, and other department equipment.
  • Ability to work with pharmacists to resolve customer issues or problems.
  • Ability to provide customer assistance during prescription pick up.
  • Ability to unpack and put away pharmacy orders.
  • Ability to report suspected prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
  • Ability to follow all department policies and procedures and comply with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering superior customer service, including greeting customers, answering non-medical questions, suggestive selling, and handling special requests.
  • Assisting customers at the register by processing sales of prescriptions, OTC products, groceries, and other items.
  • Identifying customer needs, helping to locate products, and promoting products and services.
  • Working with pharmacists to resolve customer issues or problems.
  • Operating and maintaining knowledge of department equipment, including the register and phones.
  • Retrieving prescriptions and necessary information for processing, assigning wait times in partnership with technicians and pharmacists.
  • Assisting customers in completing first-time patient information documents.
  • Requesting insurance or patient discount cards and making copies for pharmacy records.
  • Providing customer assistance during prescription pick-up, including verifying prescriptions and gathering electronic signatures.
  • Unpacking and putting away pharmacy orders.
  • Providing operational support to pharmacists and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Reporting any suspected prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
  • Following all department policies and procedures and complying with state and federal regulations.
  • Performing additional job-related responsibilities and duties as necessary or assigned.
  • Supporting and embodying the Mission, Vision, and Values of Weis Markets.
