Visit us online at: https://www.nwths.com/careers Position: Pharmacy Buyer POSITION SUMMARY: The Buyer-Pharmacy assists the Pharmacy Manager with all purchasing activities of the department in order to maintain an efficient operation of drug distribution and control within the facility. This consists of inventory control and management, contract compliance and invoice reconciliation. Pharmacy Buyers function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Pharmacy Buyer is responsible for purchasing items at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity and required specifications. Requirements

  • Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy within 120 days of hire.
  • High School Graduate, or Equivalent required; Technical School or 1-2 years college preferred.
  • 1-3 years hospital experience required; 3-5 years hospital experience preferred.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to speak and hear, to allow discussions with employees and peers.
  • Ability to cope with and remain calm under stress
  • Ability to respond to pages
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
  • Bending and lifting (up to 20 lbs), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling.
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial data

Nice To Haves

  • Technical School or 1-2 years college preferred.
  • 3-5 years hospital experience preferred.
