About The Position

Sentara Healthcare is currently hiring a Pharmacy Benefit & Compliance Specialist- Remote in Virginia! This is a full-time, permanent position with work hours from 8am to 5pm EST, Monday through Friday. The position is responsible for supporting the Pharmacy Department's day-to-day operations for the benefits and compliance of all products and lines of business. The specialist will provide subject matter expertise related to analysis, implementation, and process improvement activities. They will create and maintain reports for business operations and special projects, utilizing knowledge of various applications, databases, information systems, statistical tools, and analytical principles to monitor and analyze information. The role also involves assisting in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of information systems. The individual must listen carefully to others to respond appropriately and professionally, answer questions, or obtain needed information regarding pharmacy issues. This position will collaborate closely with teams within the Pharmacy Department, Senior Pharmacy Benefit & Compliance Specialists, and internal Pharmacy teams to ensure compliance and benefit configuration needs.

Requirements

  • HS - High School Grad or Equivalent REQUIRED
  • Managed Care- 1 year REQUIRED
  • Compliance - 1 year highly preferred
  • Pharmacy or Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) system experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel preferred
  • Experience in SQL a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support the Pharmacy Department's day-to-day operations for the benefits and compliance of all products and lines of business.
  • Provide subject matter expertise related to analysis, implementation, and process improvement activities in support of the Pharmacy Department.
  • Create and maintain reports for business operations and special projects as it pertains to operational processes.
  • Utilize knowledge of numerous applications, databases, information systems, statistical tools and analytical principles to monitor and analyze information in support of the business.
  • Assist in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of information systems.
  • Listen carefully to others in order to respond appropriately and professionally, answer questions, or obtain needed information with respect to pharmacy issues.
  • Collaborate with teams within Pharmacy Department, Senior Pharmacy Benefit & Compliance Specialists and internal Pharmacy teams to ensure compliance and benefit configuration needs.
