About The Position

Sentara Healthcare is currently hiring a Pharmacy Benefit & Compliance Specialist - Remote in Virginia. This is a full-time, permanent position (40 hours) with work hours from 8am to 5pm EST, Monday through Friday. The position is responsible for supporting the Pharmacy Department's day-to-day operations for the benefits and compliance of all products and lines of business. It provides subject matter expertise related to analysis, implementation, and process improvement activities in support of the Pharmacy Department. The specialist creates and maintains reports for business operations and special projects as it pertains to operational processes, utilizing knowledge of numerous applications, databases, information systems, statistical tools, and analytical principles to monitor and analyze information in support of the business. The role also assists in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of information systems. The person should listen carefully to others in order to respond appropriately and professionally, answer questions, or obtain needed information with respect to pharmacy issues. This position will strongly collaborate with teams within the Pharmacy Department, Senior Pharmacy Benefit & Compliance Specialists, and internal Pharmacy teams to ensure compliance and benefit configuration needs.

Requirements

  • HS - High School Grad or Equivalent REQUIRED
  • Managed Care - 1 year REQUIRED
  • Compliance - 1 year highly preferred
  • Pharmacy or Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) system experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel preferred
  • Experience in SQL a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Pharmacy Department's day-to-day operations for the benefits and compliance of all products and lines of business.
