The Pharmacy Automation Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operations and monitoring of the hospital’s automated medication dispensing systems. The Pharmacy Automation Technician will: Manage the inventory of the ADM systems house-wide. This includes monitoring expiration dates, reviewing and establishing par levels, oversite of the location of medications to minimize LASA errors, revise stock based on formulary changes and application of alert stickers to ADM pockets. Establish and monitor daily reports to assess efficiency of ADM inventory and stocking. Develops, assesses, and reports on quality assurance and performance improvement activities relating to medication dispensing via the automated dispensing machines and inventory management Follows regulatory standards and policies regarding the dispensing, security, storage, and labeling of medications Monitors effectiveness of technician ADM services and related policies/procedures and recommends changes, as needed. Provides orientation/training on ADM use to new employees; provides updated information regarding changes in policies/procedures. Mains necessary record-keeping and training documentation pertinent to areas of responsibility. Promotes sense of team effort together with pharmacists and technicians. Assists in identifying/researching problems and issues related to automated dispensing cabinets and pharmacy inventory. Remains current on standard practices through continual education Assists with other technician roles as scheduled or as needed Performs other duties as assigned
