About The Position

The Pharmacy Assistant plays an integral role in the success of pharmacy operations. Receiving PO’s in a timely manner and accurately putting product in the correct bin location ensures patient safety, inventory accuracy and exceptional customer service. The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for unloading and break down of pallets, pre-sortation of totes and verifying all NDC’s against PO’s while meeting production standards. Reconciliation of overages/shortages and proper reporting is a daily task. Under the general supervision of the Inventory Supervisor, the Inventory Clerk maintains detailed records of received product.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Pharmacy Assistant License required
  • Warehouse experience a plus
  • Basic computer skills
  • RF Scanner experience preferred
  • Able to read computer generated screens
  • Good communication skills
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Strong organizational skills; keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Excellent customer service skills demonstrated to internal team members
  • Perform continuous and repetitive work
  • Able to select, lift and carry objects ( up to 20 – 25 lbs)
  • Operate pallet jack, hand truck or dolly
  • Box cutter cut cases of product
  • Extensive walking and standing (8+ hours/day)
  • Requires bending, twisting, reaching and grasping
  • Use of step ladder to reach product.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies paperwork with total # of totes from DC
  • Unloads product from truck
  • Separates product by lot numbers and expiration dates
  • Verification of NDC and Qty of each item and reconciles against PO
  • Researches discrepancies and initiates proper resolution
  • Proper filing and maintenance of all DC receipts and Purchase Order paperwork
  • Use of handheld scanner application to scan, receive and reconcile incoming product, keying in quantities
  • Assists with annual physical inventory
  • Log and report total put away lines per hour, total items received
  • Performs monthly date check sweeps for short dated and expired product
  • Complies with all appropriate policies including DSCSA
  • Rotation of product, attention to detail reporting damaged product
  • Maintain a safe and efficient workspace and proper protocols for maintaining a safe working area.
  • Systematic setup and bin location assignment of new product
  • Help Finance research and rectify out of sync variances as it relates to PO’s adjustments
  • Assistance with product recalls and quarantines
  • Pack, sort and ship prescriptions when production needs demand
  • Adheres to and promotes the Company’s Shared ICARE principles
  • Follows federal and state laws regarding HIPAA and PHI.
