About The Position

Pharmasave #478 is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join their team in Brandon, Manitoba. This is a 12-month term position with the potential for extension. The role involves supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care, greeting customers, answering phone calls, and assisting with prescription entry, labeling, and packaging. Key duties include accurately counting, measuring, and packaging medications, receiving and stocking inventory, maintaining pharmacy cleanliness, disposing of expired medications, performing clerical tasks, and assisting with daily pharmacy operations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is an asset
• Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry is an asset
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
