About The Position
Pharmasave #406 is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join their team in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. This role involves supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care, managing prescriptions, maintaining inventory, and performing various clerical and operational tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the pharmacy. The position requires a strong understanding of pharmacy operations, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work flexibly.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy setting, with a foundational understanding of pharmacy operations and business practices.
- Highly skilled in the use of Kroll, with strong accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of Pharmacare/insurance billing processes and clinical services flagging.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
- Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
- Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
- Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
- Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
- Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
- Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
