About The Position

Rx Drug Mart Iroquois Falls is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join their team. This role supports pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care. The Pharmacy Assistant will greet customers, answer phone calls, assist with prescription entry, labeling, and packaging, and accurately count, measure, and package medications. Responsibilities also include receiving and stocking medication shipments, monitoring inventory, maintaining pharmacy cleanliness, safely disposing of expired medications, performing clerical tasks, and assisting with daily pharmacy operations.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software Kroll
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset
• Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
