About The Position

Mel's Pharmacy is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Craik, Saskatchewan. This role supports pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include greeting customers, answering phone calls, assisting with prescription entry, labeling, and packaging, counting and measuring medications, receiving and stocking inventory, maintaining pharmacy cleanliness, performing clerical tasks, and assisting with daily operations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business
• Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
