About The Position

Forbes Pharmacy-Goldstream is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join their team in Victoria, British Columbia. This role involves supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care, managing prescription entry and packaging, handling inventory, performing clerical tasks, and assisting with daily pharmacy operations. The position requires a minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy, proficiency with Kroll software, and excellent communication and organizational skills. The pharmacy operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with scheduled shifts assigned within these hours. Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business.
  • Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
  • Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
  • Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
  • Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
  • Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
  • Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
  • Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
