Pharmacy Assistant
About The Position
Pine Pharmacy is looking for full-time Pharmacy Assistants to join our team in Powerview-Pine Falls, Manitoba. This role involves supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care, managing prescriptions, maintaining inventory, and performing various clerical and operational tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the pharmacy. The store operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Shift schedules will vary based on operational needs, and candidates must be flexible and available to work a range of days and hours, including occasional Saturdays as required.
Requirements

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred.
- Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry is an asset.
- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
- Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
- Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
- Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
- Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
- Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
- Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
