About The Position

Pharmasave #105 (Pharmasave - 4th Avenue) is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Smithers, British Columbia. This role involves supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care, managing prescription processes, inventory, and clerical tasks. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, with a willingness to work flexible hours. Requirements

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software Kroll (training will be provided).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
