About The Position
Performs Pharmacist support duties under supervision and responsibility of the registered pharmacist in charge, including, but not limited to: checking prescription forms for completeness, data entry, alerting the Pharmacist to drug interactions or other alerts, and stock maintenance.
Requirements
- HS/GED
- Entry experience but some exposure to pharmacy support preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accurately prepares and fills medication orders.
- Retrieves and delivers medications in a timely fashion.
- Maintains adequate stock levels in the pharmacy, avoiding overstocking whenever possible.
- Reviews medication areas for expired drugs.
- Maintains medication refrigerator temperature logs in assigned pharmacy areas.
- Maintains medication refrigerator temperature logs in pharmacy areas and nursing units (as assigned)
- Adheres to hospital dress code
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record
- Completes PEAK training and educational requirements as per department and/or hospital requirements.
- Other duties as assigned
